this week end I brewed up two batches thinking I was going to be around Friday to rack them into the secondary, but as it turns out I will be getting on the road Thursday after work for the long motor from San Diego to Sacramento, so the latest I can rack would be tomorrow night. they are both still chug'n along, so I think I will just let them be until I get back next Tuesday. Or would it be better to rack them while they are still actively fermenting than letting them sit for an extra week in the primary?

Third vote to let them sit. It's better to sit on the yeast for a few days than to remove a bunch of active yeast. You don't have to worry about autolysis in that much time. If you are paranoid you can drop the temp a little on them to slow down the continuing fermentation, but I wouldn't bother.
