Primary bucket accurate??

I buy my brew water frm a spring water plant near my home. I would normally use 1 gallon jugs but I decided to use one of priamry bucket and when I filled it with 5 gallons the water line was about 2" above the 5 gallon mark that was on the bucket The recipes I use say to "top off to the 5 gallon mark on the bucket. Should I remark the 5 gallon mark or is this common with the premarked primary buckets??

SOme are accurate, and some aren't it's not a bad idea to remeasure and mark them.
