Preparing Wood Chips Sanitize??

I have had oak chips soaking in buourbon for over a week. They are Jack Daniels oak barrel chips. Could I consider them sanitized?

I have had oak chips soaking in buourbon for over a week. They are Jack Daniels oak barrel chips. Could I consider them sanitized?

I would steam them for like 15 min, that should kill any nasties. although the bourbon soak should have taken care of that.
