I figured that with tomorrow's temp supposed to get up to 98 here, I could preheat the water by putting the kettle out first thing in the am and let the sun heat that water for me for a few hours before kicking off the Bayou Classic......

Of course opening the sliding glass doors (which really stick bad) I got my finger pinched over the nail didn't make my plan as fun as I was thinking :)

I have no doubt I'm going to lose the nail for sure but I figure brewing some beer will make me feel just a little better in this crappy heat.

I do the same thing. It comes out of the tap around 55-60 and I let it warm up and hopefully any chlorine that may be in there can evaporate.
I am also planning on using my immersion Chiller water to heat the pool this year. Might as well instead of just letting it heat the ground!

That is another reason I like to do 2 batches in one day. Use the coolers hot waste water to have pre heated water.

Its going to be 97 tomorrow and 95 on Monday so really doesn't matter which day I brew, they both are about the same and I'll filter the water with my new filter and then we are off to the races......
