I pressed orchard apples and added nothing to them. This powdery film has appeared on top and has not gone away. It took at least a few weeks to start appearing.

It almost looks as if wheat flour has been lightly dusted on top.

I would like to know how to find out if it is safe to consume.

I can’t seem to attach a photo.

If you reply to this thread you should be able to click the Insert Image button and then add an image file from your device.

I'm no expert on wild fermentations (only do this for non-alcoholic products like tepache or sauerkraut), but the typical response I see to this question is "Don't mix it in, don't worry, see how it tastes when you rack it."
