It's really annoying that after pouring one beer off my stout faucet, the faucet/shank chill and a second beer poured right after doesn't get the same head.

Anyone else find this annoying?

Any suggestions on how to get the same pour in the second glass?

Raise the temperature of your fridge, lower your glass from the faucet, increase the CO2 serving pressure, or reduce the length of your beer lines. You could also spring for a creamer faucet. In any event, that second pour is the "real" pour. That's why bartenders will dump off a glass of foam from the first pour of a fresh unused faucet before they pour your glass. When you are judging whether your setup is good, you should be looking at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th pull instead of the first.

Well, the issue is really just with my stout/nitro faucet.

Line length doesn't matter to much there, due to the high pressure. The line going to this faucet is only 3-4 ft. I'm also pushing it with 30 psi on my nitro/beer-gas. Much higher and the flow straightener no longer does it's job.

I considered lowering the temp of my fridge. Beers off a nitro faucet are great served in the 50's. However, the same isn't true for the other beers in my fridge.

I don't notice much difference between first and subsequent pours on my system. I have maybe 3' line at about 28psi (25/75 beergas) and 45-48F. Perfect pours every time once carbed up enough.

masonsjax- What type of stout faucet do you have?

Mine is all SS. I got it that way because it goes well with my SS Perlicks. However, I wonder if the type with a plastic nozzle would be less susceptible to the issue I'm having.

Mine is all SS. I forget which brand. It's not marked, but I think I got it from AIH.

Maybe your beer line is slightly warmer than the beer? I have fans inside my keezer to keep the temps even.
