I just purchased a 2.5 gallon keg for $69 and noticed that the inside is discolored on the inner walls and floor I was told that this is due to the acid washing and will not affect the beer. Has anyone else experienced something similar with these kegs?

I had something similar on the outside of mine. Bar keepers friend took care of it. If you are concerned I'd imagine the guys at AIH will take care of you. For what it's worth, this type of acid etching is typically a cosmetic issue not a performance one.

Naw, you'll be fine with that. Oh wait, you said they were Chinese???

I think there were lots of Chinese products that turned out to be crap or tainted with poison....

I don't have any discoloration in my US made cornies.

I'm guessing it's cheap stainless steel that is starting to rust?

Good luck,

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that it was scratched on the in side as well. He said he would take care of it. I am more concerned about the scratches now than anything else.
