Potassium metabisulfite limiting reactant

I know people titrate this. My question is, how is the potassium metabisulfite removed from solution if there is not enough clorine or chloromine to react with? Would some not remain in solution. Thanks.

I posed this question to a moderator on a chemistry forum. They answered that metabisulfite would indeed remain in the hot lauter tun until it reacted with clorine or chloromine as long as there was an abundance of metabisulfite

If the original dose of Camden exceeded the amount needed to drive off cloromine or chlorine the instantaneous reaction is limited the amount of the limited reactant in this case chlorine and cloromine.

I have gotten a lot of answers from various places involving this strange situation. Thanks to all who helped.

I would agree that this scenario is limited to a short time span.
