Hi, I'm new to home brewing; I've brewed a few 5 gallon partial boil batches. I'm looking at a larger pot/kettle for full boils, possibly double batches, as well as double IPA recipe's that I've come across that suggest 8 gallon boils. I found this pot but wondering if it's too large for 5 gallon boils. Thoughts? Thanks for the great info on this forum!

I have that kettle. I usually make 6 gallon batches. Your liquid hits the thermometer right over 5 gallons. I would recommend getting this pot so someday you can make 10 gallon batches, and it will certainly work for 5 gallon batches. Plus boil over is something you will rarely have to worry about with such a beast. Bigger is better when it comes to BK's....

Thanks for the replies!

jakenbacon: are you saying for 5 gallon full boils the thermometer is immersed?
