That's excellent, I've never been to any of those places except Mr.Tuna and all the breweries. 18 new spots to check out. And now I really want pho.

My missing Zwanze streak continues, last 3 years: wedding, work, weddingI'll be up for Zwanze and now have a few new spots to check as well
Bangor has Nocturnem Draft Haus and a couple of OK breweries (Geaghan's, Mason's). Don't know the area that well.I know this is a Portland thread but this might be the best place to inquire. Does anyone have a recommendation for a bar in Bangor with good food? We are on or way to Acadia! Also is there anything I can’t miss when we are in Acadia food wise?
Thanks in advance.

I was in Bar Harbor last year and best tap lists I saw were at Blaze and Finback Ale House. We really enjoyed Side Street Cafe for food. I believe Havana also has good food but can't speak from experience.
I'll be up for Zwanze
Same... who else is going? Hope to meet some new TB folks![]()
Sadly, I will be out of town![]()
I will be chillin with Os next weekend.
Should be back in Portland this year. I went digging around yesterday and couldn't find a date yet, though.Itching for some news on Pils and Love - this year's should be happening in Portland in July, right?
I know it’s south of Portland, but when does Tributary usually do their Lesser release?

I can't miss this one, can't do it, but I was really hoping for mid-August.I was told July 20 by someone at the tasting room. Same place by the Springpoint Ledge Lighthouse. See you there!
Hey all,
Heading to Maine in September. Air bnb in Georgetown for 4 nights and tent camping in Acadia for 2. I'll be hitting Suarez on the way up from Pittsburgh and detouring home through Greensboro, so locking in those bookends, my time in Maine won't be all that beer-filled. But I do want to try to get to Novare Res, Allagash, MBC, and Oxbow (Newcastle) if I can.
Primary questions are:
(1) Any breweries stand out as being a good stop with kids (8 and 5)?
(2) Bars/restaurants suitable for kids with a nice beer selection?
(3) Pretty sure in Acadia I'll just be enjoying my Suarez pils under the stars, but is there anything beer-related up that way that I'm missing?
Non-beer-related: Any favorite hikes, factoring in kids, within a reasonable drive from Georgetown?
There aren't any extensive hikes on georgetown. It's not a huge island. I recommend going to reid state park and climbing on the rocks and walking both beaches. At low tide search through the rocks at the end of the beaches for crabs. Popham beach is also amazing, but that is a 45 minute drive. There is a popham fort kids can walk around too a little further up the road. Thorne Head Preserve is a decent easy hike in bath. You can also just walk along the waterfront in bath.
I know nothing about kid friendly beer places. Oxbow Newcastle I believe there are minor hikes around the property. Georgetown and Bath are beer wastelands. The "brewery" in bath is horrible. Beale street is probably the best bet for beer/really good food/kid friendly in bath.
In that case, wolfe's neck state park near freeport is good. Head down to the rocks to look for eagles on the island right off the shore. Thanks for the response! I've always wanted to go to the original Oxbow and have heard, as you said, there are some short trails and that it is very kid friendly.
I know Georgetown itself isn't a destination. It really worked out to be the best option for (relative) proximity to Portland, Freeport, and some relatives I have that live in Phippsburg, when accounting for price. When I'm driving 14 hours for vacation, I am not really phased by 45-90 minute drives to get places, so I welcome any recommendations within that distance!
