So since tomorrow is being celebrated as National Home Brewers day I plan to make a trip from Bangor, Me down to Portland as they are a craft beer mecca of my area. I've had some of the big names from down there, but any suggestions or must haves in this area?

Bissell Brothers, but they are literally moving this week. I'm not sure what they'll have at 1 Industrial Way. However, literally right next to them are Foundation and Austin Street is on the other side of the building. Across the street is Allagash.

Check out Maine Brewing Supply for brewing stuff and Bier Cellar down the street.

Whenever we come up from CT, those are the places I always go. By the time we get past Allagash, we're feeling pretty good and need a nap though.

Maine Beer Co in Freeport. Also in Portland, Rising Tide, Liquid Riot. For bars, IMO, the best is Novare Res, then King's Head, then maybe Great Lost Bear.

Enjoy!

I've decided that this is my route

Bunker
Rising Tide
Alagash
Oxbow
Novare Res

I figure at 2 pints each, I'll be ready for that nap by the end if not sooner. I'll probably start at Novare thou

For bars I love Gritty McDuff's. Didn't know Bissell was moving, but love their beers.

I'm heading up to Maine in another week. Planning on stopping at Maine Brewing for their release of Dinner and hope to score a pint and some cans of Foundation Epiphany on the way to the Portland airport.

To bad you weren't in the area for Saturday. We had Tap Into Summer. 16-17 local breweries unlimited sampling.

I was at Gritty's in October of 2013, it's a cool place. Fish & chips were good and had a couple tasty beers there.
