a friend has a pony keg that has been sitting for a while unused. can i keg a 5galn batch in it? how much briming sugar? I woupd also be using a hand pump to serve.

between me and my friends at my ocktoberfest party i tink we should be able to drain it.....:drunk:
 
I have seen on You Tube there is a way to pop out the center stem and ball. I would assume after doing so, it could be put back together.

There would be about 2 to 2 1/2 gallons head space when you put the beer inside, so I am not sure how well it will carbonate. Maybe one of the more experienced guys could answer that.

On a 5 gallon batch you would need about 3/4 cup of priming sugar.
