interesting eval... I had the exact opposite impression. I felt the Elder was delicious yet more of a hop kick in the mouth a little lighter in mouthfeel and less pronounced hop flavor and bitterness. While Younger was maltier and the hops almost gradually built on your palate

I haven't had the younger, but I liked blind big better than the elder. I'll have to try them head to head this week

I have done the same comparison every year for the last 3-4 years. I too like the Elder better. I like a drier finish in my IPAs. I think saying "balanced" is a misnomer because I don't think the "balance" is as important as whether I feel like taking another drink after I finish the first one. With the Elder, the dry finish leaves me thirsting for more. The somewhat sweeter finish in the Younger doesn't really give me that feeling.

Yep, I have to say that PtYis better... And better this year tha last. I went back 3 times.. First time. The wait was 6 hours.. But it was well worth it... However,I made a big mistake.. I sipped PtE first Ann then went on to PtY..wow, what a trip. What was wrong is I didn't finish Elder before Younger.. When I went back to the Elder and it tasted weak.. Yah, right..but, it's like drinking wine.. You don't drink the robust wines and then hit the whites.

So, next, I went back for a second time.. 1.5 hr wait.. But finished tE before tY.. Much better experience..

Elder packs a hop punch on its own.. Younger way more so.. This year both very well balanced... IMO
