Hey! I'm currently gathering a bunch of general data from homebrewers, which I plan to report in a follow-up to my Portrait of a Modern Homebrewer article. If you're as interested in this stuff as me, CLICK HERE to complete the survey.

If you like the silly junk I do at Brulosophy.com and want to wear your support, I just started another Teespring campaign, it ends on March 23, 2015, so don't hesitate too long :)

Cheers!

Marshall

You should have a "decline to answer" under income and such. I typically decline to answer...I'm just weird. Sorry.

I am unsure how to define my facial hair. Does short beard mean like Ben Affleck at the Oscars? Or more like John Hamm/Bradley Cooper short? Does long beard mean ZZ top long? I am somewhere between Ben Affleck and Zach Galifinakis.

This is very important.

I've been probed . . . . . for answers!

Brülosophy | General Homebrewer Survey
Thank you for responding to this survey, your response has been recorded. Stay tuned to Brulosophy.com for a full report of these results in the near future!

Done,

Please post results when your survey is complete

I like to know what topics I can start a flame war about :D

my 2 cents

For sure!

done

no top cropping :(

Argh, sorry about that!

Haha... I trust whatever you put :)

Done. I'm sure you'll put this info to good use. I've found some interesting things on your webpage.

I agree FWH contributes flavor but NOT aroma... wasn't a choice but put agree to both...

Some people have indoor natural gas brew rigs.
Some people have home RO water systems. I use a blend of tap water and homemade RO water.
The "here are some common things brewers believe and I do or do not believe them as well" page is rather inane. Each question should be answered with "it depends." Irish moss can help to clear your beer if your beer is suffering from excessive protein haze, but it won't help much if polyphenols are clouding your beer. Polyclar is good for removing polyphenols. Water chemistry is key to producing great beer if your water needs it. If your water is perfectly suited to a particular grain bill then no, you don't need any water chemistry to produce excellent beer.

And there was no "Fu Manchu" option.

+1. Even the survey standard "somewhat agree", "somewhat disagree", Or "Other" with a blank box may have been more useful for gathering information.
I chose "I dont know" for many, not because I had no clue, but because its complicated.

Done - and clearly "beard status" is the most important question on the survey!

Done - and no matter what the results, I will continue to use only one hand to pull the paper towels from the dispenser because that's just the way I roll.

Done

Wasn't sure how to respond to the average expenditure per month. I've been brewing a year so all the big expenses were factored in to my response (the highest amount). In truth my current spend would be the lowest.

That's the figure I tell myself.

Don't normally do surveys or stuff like this, but due to your activity here and contributions to the community, done!

I'm also in the "factored in equipment cost" to monthly expenditures camp. Only been brewing just over a year, so all the entirety of my brew and serving setup is included. I really need to stop the impulse buying. My side-by-side ferm chamber / lager zone didn't help in the least. I keep saying I'm close to done shopping for equipment, need to actually believe that one day.
