im about to brew a big russian imperial stout for next winter consumption with about a 1.1 OG my question is would it be a good idea to pitch it onto the yeast/trub from my BIPA which is just finishing out, its OG was 1.078. are the yeast too pooped out from the high OG of the first batch or am i okay?

It was whitelabs cali yeast.

Yeast doesn't get pooped-out. In fact, yeast poop is exactly what we are looking for. The yeast cake should be well adapted for fermenting a high gravity beer.

I wouldn't pitch directly on the previous cake directly. I found out the hard way when I pitched a beer on a previous cake/trub without yeast washing and had to dump the later. Never again.
