Quite a few years ago I "won" a corny in my club's raffle. The problem is that the keg is missing the pinlock fittings, gas/liquid tubes, and pressure relief valve.

Basically, all it has is the lid (with hole for relief) and the keg.

Buying those parts will seemingly run higher than the cost of buying a used corny. Any pointers or is this a lost cause? I'd love another corny and am tired of kicking this turd around but won't spend a fortune to fix it.

Thanks

Possibly worth fixing, but as you stated, you'll probably be better off sourcing a used, complete keg.

Tips? Send it to me, I'll figger' something out........:D

other than as a fermenter / hlt / BIG starter container I can't imagine it'll be worth it for you to buy the pieces. I bet someone might buy it from you for one of those needs though...

I've kicked around the idea of cutting one up to make a 3-4 gal e-biab setup before.

I'd buy it if you were local. As someone else mentioned they make good fermenters - just clamp your blow off hoses to the posts. A coke lid can be found easily as they don't have relief valves or you can plug it.

Secondary fermenter.

I've got more kegs than I'll ever serve from so I am turning the extra's into secondary/tertiary fermenter's and bulk aging for higher alcohol brews.

Adventures in Homebrewing sells lids with hole's cut for using as a fermenter.

for around 20$ or so you can get it working again and with ball lock posts,
so thats what i would do

and instead of buying a relief valve just get an old lid for 2$ and use your fingernail on the gas post to purge oxygen from the keg.
