Pin lock vs Ball lock

Researching for a home build kegerator project and trying to gather all the info I can. Can anyone fill me in on the pros/cons to Pin lock vs Ball lock?

Seems like Ball lock are preferred and more common, but not sure why.

Thoughts?

Ball locks are more commonly used by homebrewers, although supply of used kegs is starting to run low. Ball locks are a little taller and skinnier than Pin locks. For instance, you couldn't fit two pin locks in some of the more popular dorm-sized fridges without modifying them, whereas two ball locks fit just fine. Ball locks also have a pressure relief valve in the lid, which pin locks generally don't.

Other than the different dimensions and connectors, they are identical.

Got it - those were the differences I knew of. Wanted to make sure there weren't some things that impacted the quality rather than size/availability concerns, etc.

There is an old distributor/bottling company in Danbury CT that has thousands of used ball locks for sale at ~25. He advertises in NW CT Craigslist a few times a year. I don't know if he will ship less than a skid of 25 but I may be able to get his number.

I have THOUSANDS of Cornelius Kegs/Tanks for sale.
I am currently a soda manufacturer and producer and have been for years.
I have catered to bars, restaurants, and special events,
but within the last fews years everything is turning to bag and a box,
so now I am getting rid of all my kegs to convert over.
Basically, the more you buy the better deal you get.
80% of them are ready to go the other 20% need little things
maybe a new o-ring, but here's the best part,
you get to pick them out, so first come first serve.
They can be used for Beer/Wine Making or Soda

These sell online for 45 bucks a piece used. I only want 22FIRM each,
and if you buy large quantities I can make a you deal, just need these gone,
they take up way to much room.
