I just bought a pin-lock keg on cl for $20. I'm going to buy a new set of o-rings for it and had a question regarding fittings. Some of the pics I see online show fitting kits with springs. The fittings on the pin-lock I bought has no springs on the drop tube or the gas in. Since this is my first venture into kegging, I am unsure of how the pin-lock fittings are configured. Can anyone help?

I think the "springs" that you are seeing, are for the "poppet" valves............

That is the "spring pressure" you are overcoming when attaching your Q/D fittings to your keg.

When you take it apart to swap O-rings, check the condition of the seals on the poppet valves, and replace as needed.

Note: inspect closely with a good light........You are looking for tears , cracks, and gouges, etc.......All potential leaks!
