Fermented this cream ale for about a month in a conical. Opened the lid to this. Is it good...or bad?

I can't distinguish anything different in the smell, but I don't have a good sniffer. I've kegged the wort and will be carbonating so I'll know for sure soon. I've just never had this much "stuff" floating on the top before.

I wouldn't say it looks normale, but it doesn't look infected either. Yeast, proteins, could be any number of normal things that occur in beer, you just happened to get it. I definitely wouldn't be concerned.

That may be normal if you peeked in after 5 or 6 days, but having that after one month would raise a red flag. I'm not saying there's a problem for sure but probably a concern to evaluate.

As long as it tastes fine you should be ok since you are kegging. Just for peace of mind, I personally would have tasted it before I racked to the keg. Hope it turns out ok.

I just kegged a batch of rye saison that looked similar. There was some yeast clumped up on the surface for some reason. The hydrometer sample tasted fine, so I went with it. The yeast was really powdery for whatever reason. I guess that's how the strain I used is.
