RetroPie! RetroPie

I believe newer Xbox controllers can communicate via bluetooth, but I think that's Xbox One X and above.

I mostly use a cheap USB NES controller I stumbled on at Microcenter one day. Not the best, but it was something like five bucks.

I gotta dig, but I got a case with a power supply that has a power switch on it (handy! ) nicely built for ten bucks.

You can certainly go for a starter kit, but they've always seemed a bit much for what you get.

Specific questions? I first set one up when the 2B+ was the newest model, everything's just gotten easier and more stable.

"Emulator"?
The link in the first post is to an actual RaspberryPi. Which is pretty much the opposite of an "emulator" of same.
The link in the second post is how to use an actual RaspberryPi as an entertainment device. Not a RaspberryPi "emulation".
Not sure what's the ask here...

Cheers!

By emulator I mean emulation of classic consoles- SNES, Sega etc.

I tried to beat the price of the one I linked but couldn't do it. They must get this stuff in large batches to keep cost down. I will say I didn't venture too far away from Amazon.

I have retropi running on a Pi 3B with 1GB. 4 with 4GB would be a little overkill (unless things have moved on since 2016 when I put it together).
