i have a Pepsi style keg that does not want to hold a seal. i have replaced all gaskets and made sure the poppet valves are tight. i have taken hot soapy water and put into keg and shook it up, then taken co2 and pressurized the keg and with in 24hrs it is gone. any body have any suggestions?

Just to be clear, when you pressurize the keg, then disconnect your gas, then a day later pull the release valve there is no pressure left?

With some older kegs you really have to reef on the gas and liquid posts to get them tight. Do you use food-grade seal lubricant with your seals? Does your keg lid appear to have any damage to it? Do you happen to have spare parts so you can start replacing things one by one (gas post, liquid post, keg lid, relief valve)?

Good luck!

i disconnect the gas. the keg is new to me and just to make sure i replaced the gaskets. i do not have any food grade lubricant. is there any were i can pick it up at a store that is not a local home brew shop. the closet shop to me is about 1hr away. i have heard of people just using Vaseline on there kegs but i am not so sure about that. i have asked my father-in-law about it and he said to just to check all the seals but he does not use a lubricant of any thing on his kegs and he has never needed to. i have another keg but it is not a pepsi keg. cant think of the brand but it is in use right now. i know that it is a kinda pinkish or peach color for the rubber at the top of the keg if that helps.

Typically with my pin locks its the lid itself. I bend the feet down that clamp the lid up, as they tend to get a bit soggy after years of service. Secondly, fill your keg with liquid and then give it a good drop while holding the lid. You want to seat it properly. Just lift it and give it a little jolt by the lid. Hit it with 20PSI and it should be fine.
