Hi.
Just joined. Me and hubby have done a few kit brews and starting to try and move forward a bit.

Could anyone advise why we would add pectose in brewing beer please?
We don't currently have any and want to know if its a necessity? If so, we'll rush out and buy some.

We are using a kit, but altering it to add bananas for a banana beer.

We are advised to add pectose after adding bananas, boiled water, sugar, ale concentrate & cold water.
Any help would be greatly received

Put bananas in freezer for two days, it’ll break fruit cell walls to release sugars. No need for any enzyme. But adding banana usually doesn’t result in banana aroma. Use proper yeast for banana notes.
