Today I my keg kicked. I washed / shook with PBW. Do I have to star san keg right away or can I wait until next batch? Also, I'm bone dry on co2. Is it ok to wait to run PBW through keg dip stick? I don't want to dissemble keg. I did victoriously shake keg while cleaning. Will this be enough? Next batch won't be ready until 3 months.

You don't have to star san right away...I keep about a gallon in my empties though but I keep 5 gallon of it in an old keg

I agree with @Sammy86 . Good enough for now!

My process is:

1) hose out the keg
2) PBW (actually Oxyclean) stand over night
3) hose out the keg (save the Oxyclean in my mop bucket for the garage floor)
4) StarSan the keg (now or just before filling... or both if I can't remember)

Next batch won't be done for 3 months? ...of beer? People now make mead in less time these days... Fast lagers method can be kegged in two weeks (just sayin')

Or... After cleaning the keg, fill it with 5G of StarSan/Distilled water solution. Leave it there until your ready to keg a batch. Then, use CO2 to transfer the StarSan via a liquid line to liquid line "jumper" into another cleaned empty keg. This way you know the keg is sanitized and purged of O2 prior to filling. And the StarSan will last a while this way too.

I recently started doing this and it's been working great so far!
