From the time I started brewing, my wife has been skeptical. She doesn't like the mess I make of "her" kitchen, and she begrudges the square footage of space my batches, ingredients, and paraphenalia take up in the storage closet and the fridge.
But tonight I just had a breakthrough. I had put up a gallon batch of something I call "Little Brown Mouse," a simple brown ale using 2-row, a little Caramel 20, a moderate amount of Goldings hops, and US-05 yeast. It was designed to be a basic beer I could use to develop my brewing skills and also make good use of my big bag of malt. Think of it as a top-fermented "small beer."
So today the batch was ready, and I put it in the fridge. A little while ago SWMBO tried one, decided it was really good, and that maybe this homebrewing wasn't so stupid after all. I said "Glad you like it... it's cheaper than Budweiser."

I don't think I'll be getting as much static about it from here on out.
