Currently in the process of setting up an electric brewery and I have a few questions with regards to parts & setup. I am setting up a single 240v element, single Auberins SYL-2352 PID box with a SSR & heatsink. Essentially this but not biab: http://www.pjmuth.org/beerstuff/images/Auberin-wiring1-a4-5500w-BIAB-30d6.jpg

1) What is the consensus on best 5500w element? I am using a bru-gear 15gal kettle with a 2" weldless triclamp port. Was originally looking at the Camco wavy ULWD but heard that the base rusts and thought the curve may be annoying. http://www.ebrewsupply.com/stainles...-straight.html?SID=m8frnh6he9cal5m5kq00u1ask4 is out of stock for a little while; I would wait if I could find good reviews for it. Any better options, or should I go for one of those?

2) Element enclosure: needs to be 2" tri-clover, and was thinking of going http://www.brewershardware.com/2-Tri-Clover-X-1-NPS-Element-Adapter.html . Looks more solid than the stilldragon & brewhardware alternatives, is there a better option?

3) Do I need a contactor in between my SSR and my element? Could I use one of these, and if so which: http://www.ebrewsupply.com/shop/int...ontactors.html?SID=m8frnh6he9cal5m5kq00u1ask4

4) Where do I find the different fuses and resistors? I can't find parts on electric brewery, I would ideally like to fit as much as I can on a din rail and see some of these are available but not all. Whats the most common approach for including these in the panel?

5) Are there cheap 5-6' 4 prong locking cables for the main power or is it better to make your own? What about the cable for these elements?

Do I get the http://www.ebrewsupply.com/10-3-sjoow-cable-10-ft-cut.html cable w/ a male and female connector for the main power and a http://www.ebrewsupply.com/10-3-sjoow-cable-10-ft-cut-219.html with one end for the element?

Sorry for the long list of questions & amount of links. I've been looking through guides and other builds but cant figure out these questions, any and all advice is appreciated

I just got my all stainless steel heating elements from Brewmation so there will be no rusting. Also they manufactured it so there are no threads, just the tri clamp.

Looks pretty useful, but I need a 2" triclover instead of 1.5". I can't quite figure out their website, but it looks like I would have to purchase all 3 5500w options + a 1.5" to 2" adapter which seems like an unnecessarily bulky and expensive route to take at $100-200

I can definitely answer some of the questions and will attempt to answer some others:

1. Brewhardware has a 5500W ULWD all stainless element now, I believe they're the only one.
https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/element5500_ripple.htm

2. Not sure - I don't use TC.

3. In theory both work. I oversized all my components because of some crazy need to have plenty of "clearance" for current, but I'm not sure if you'll want to do the same.

4. Can't help you... much. I only use one fuse and it protects the wire running to my 120V components, so I guess I'd use either the 15a or 6a one you listed from Ebrew.

5a. Amazon has really cheap dryer replacement cords - you'd need to add an L14-30 terminal to the end of it but in my opinion that's by far the most economical way for a main power cord because you don't have to add a plug. The one I linked is 5' but they offer other convenient lengths too.

5b. Yes, those are the correct cords. I sourced mine at HD because it was cheaper there (and more convenient), but regardless of where you buy from, that is indeed what you want to use. For a typical setup you'll need an L6-30P connector for the elements (like you said, just on one end).
