Can it be done? Anyone attempt it? I am looking at doing something like 2.5g of the first or big beer and 2.5g of the little beer. Depending on the OG I hit with the little beer I may add some DME to boost it a little. Any thoughts? I am thinking of attempting this in a month or two so this is just my initial investigation. My plan is to have a bday brew and a Christmas/holiday brew out of it.

Sure. When the mash is done, pull the bag out and measure the wort. Then add enough water at 170F to make up 3.5 gallons and put the bag back in the pot. Stir it, pour the wort off, then add another 3.5 gallons and let it sit while you boil the first batch. You should get about 2/3rds of the total gravity in the first batch.
