This will be my first time trying a parti-gyle style brew. I plan to make a Barley Wine with the first runnings then I am note sure what to make with the rest. Below is my Barley Wine recipe that I came up with.
My plan is to mash in and let it sit for an hour, then fly sparge with a few gallons of water to get close to 5gal. After that I was thinking of adding some additional 2-row, maybe 3 pounds and letting it mash for another hour and then spare like normal. Thoughts on this idea?
My other question is what should I make with my second runnings? I was thinking an IPA because I have a lot of extra hops in the freezer but I am not sure.
