This is perhaps my favorite belgian beer ever. I am much more of a fan of saisons, wits, and beers containing Brettanomyces, lactobacillus ect. This beer however completely floors me, getting better as each sip warms. Never in my life have I tried a belgian dark strong ale that had so much character and so much life to it. This special beer is able to address a few main issues that i have with most dubbel, tripple, and quadruples. To me some are definitely better than other but i fell like they all share mostly the same qualities which leaves the drinker bored and eventually tired of the style. This beer however steps things up a couple of notches and introduces a quad that is fully flavored, not highly carbonated which most are. This lower carbonation leaves a more pronounced malt character in my opinon than most other belgian beers. The head is also much creamier and rich than others in its class as well. If you havent tried this beer yet i would highly recommed it even if you are not a fan of the belgian style beers. This beer truly delivers.
