Hey guys, I'm looking for a little clarification on a kit I just picked up. I was wanting to brew a dark pumpkin beer. Since we don't have a local homebrew store in college station I ended up picking up Texas Brewing Inc's kit for which this thread is named. I plan on brewing tomorrow or on labor day.
The kit includes steeping grains, two canisters of extract, a large can of pumpkin, hops and spices. However the instructions are ever so vague, and this being my second brew, I'm left feeling confused. The issue is that the instructions tell you to steep, put in extract, then hops, cool, pitch yeast, and ferment. There is nothing about pumpkin or spices in there.
My guess would be to add pumpkin when I add the extract, and do the spices in the last 5 minutes of the boil. But, I'd like a second opinion.
Thanks, it won't let me attach the PDF, but you can find the instructions by searching the beers name.
