Anyone every try a pale ale with strictly just American 2row Pale Malt and Munich making up the total malt bill? If so what was it like?

That would be awesome. It's a pretty standard pale ale malt bill. Most people tend to add some crystal malt, but I like it without most times.

I've seen quite a few British pale recipes that are 90-95% pale malt and the remaining 5-10% either Vienna or Munich malt. If you find any of the grain bills of Thornbridge brewery they are definitively worth considering.

Sounds tasty. I've had a number of homebrewed pale ales with no added caramel malts, with varying percentages of 2-row, Vienna and Munich, and liked them all from a malt perspective. I found toning down the ibu's by about 5 makes it a more drinkable beer, as caramel malt sweetness mutes a bit more of the bitterness.

As a commercial reference, Harpoon IPA (not a great IPA, but a drinkable pale ale in my mind, and one that I have drunk gallons of) is a mix of 2-row, Munich and Victory. Clean, dry, hint of toasty and malty.
