Recipe is (5.5 gallons)
- Pale Ale
7lb golden promise
2oz acidulated malt
Calcium 136
Magnesium 12
Sodium 19
Chloride 58
Sulfate 298
which my additions to the mash water would be the following
Gypsum : 4G
Cal Chl : 1G
Epsom Salt : 1G
should put me right at 5.5
-----------------------------------------------
Here is the mild recipe
5.5 Maris otter
1 C60
1 oak smoked malt
.5 brown malt
6oz flaked oats
4oz chocolate malt
1oz acidulated malt
Gypsum : 1g
Cal Chl : 1.3g
Baking soda : .5g
Calcium 56
Magnesium 0
Sodium 16
Chloride 62
Sulfate 53
which will put me just under 5.5 (i think it was 5.49?)
i found some promising water profiles and got as close as i could without going over.
And from what I've been reading on other water profiles for these styles, they seem on the median area of the set styles and i would like to start dabbling into them .
P.S. They're for my birthday brew tomorrow, for my birthday today! (couldnt get the day off, so i'm doing my bday brewing tomorrow morning)
THANKS FOR LOOKING!
