I bought an oxygen regulator that uses 1.4 oz disposable O2 cylinders. I only used it to oxygenate two batches and the tank was empty, a total of only two minutes through the diffuser stone.

This seems like low capacity to me. Does anyone have any experience using these disposable tanks? I took the regulator off of the tank each time I used it and am wondering if the tank leaked.

1.4 ounces translates to 28 liters of O2 at standard temp & pressure. I typically run .5 LPM for four minutes, so that 28 liters would be good for around 14 five gallon batches.

So, yeah, unless you had an explosive couple of aeration sessions, a lot of that tank went missing....

Cheers!

Thanks for the confirmation.

I'll assume that this first bottle was a leaker, and this should be a viable system for aerating my worts.
