Oxidized after reconfiguring co2 lines

I took my co2 system apart to add some more lines, did not purge the lines before reconnecting and it seems one keg is nearly completely oxidized and the other seems on its way. Just putting this out there as a PSA and to see if anyone else experienced this before.

No but at same time i am not susprised that something like that could happen. I always stick my finger in the disconnect to purge the fitting before i connect to one of my kegs as a sanity check.

Is it possible that it is an infection? I had some off flavors develop that I attributed to oxidation, but the guys at the LHBS suggested infection as an alternative. It can be tough to figure these events out...

Careful... telling people around here that if they expose their beer to oxygen it might get oxidized could lead to you being called a proselyte (ask me how i know).

But you're totally right. If you ever depressurize your lines you need to push the poppet in the QD for long enough to flush it out.

Makes total sense now not sure why it slipped my mind when I was doing it
