Hi, a few days ago I bottled my first ESB (4 liter batch) and kind of accidentally I dissolved for spoons of honey in the priming solution (instead of the 3 suggested by my home brew store). Will it overcarbonate and if so what can I do to stop it? In the fridge maybe?

Should I just leave it to carbonate only for a week instead of two and drink it all up (only 12 bottles anyway) before it gets too carbonated?

Please help :)
Thanks

Refrigeration will make the yeast dormant stopping the carbing process. You could also vent them and recap. I don't *think* you'll end up with bottle bombs but be forewarned it can occur with overcarbed beer. Good luck.

Why does their calculator use current temperature of the beer? If you've cold crashed, then you'll be getting it way under carbonated. On these calculators, you should always use the highest temperature seen in the fermentation process. That is what determines the amount of residual co2.
As for the honey amount, if it were tablespoons, you've put in about twice as much as you should for 4 liters. Teaspoons, you're okay.

It was table spoons :(
Thanks for the help. Will try it soon and if OK and carbonated enough put them in the fridge immediately.
Wonder if it will taste like honey...
