My ale has been bottled for nearly two weeks. By the third day it was completely carb'd which I thought was weird. Last night we drank half the batch and it was perfect, but today I opened a warm bottled and it shot fizz until there was no liquid... Do I have potential bottle bombs?

Presumably, you used enough priming sugar to provide a good head when chilled. So why would you open a warm bottle?

Stick the rest in the fridge for a couple of weeks, then open them...

Cheers!

yes, beer needs to be cold to absorb CO2. It needs at LEAST 1 week in the fridge, 2 is better. That will allow it to absorb all the CO2 in suspension and solution and you shouldn't have any issues.
