did I miss something? Is that a stage next to the door?

Yes it is. I play keyboards and do some vocals. Mrs Ken likes the karaoke (we have a machine for that) We are pre-wired to the TV from the stage so we can put the words up there as well. Our son is the lead vocalist, song writer and drummer with a band called "The Fisher Kings" (check you tube if you would like to hear them) We will have a drum set, keyboard, lead and bass guitar along with an acoustic guitar. Don't forget the hand instruments as well (tambourines, shakers etc)
Going to be a rockin place when done. Come on over !!!!

5 coats of the shiny stuff on the bar top. 1 more light coat to finish after a "micro sanding" then move all the "bells and whistles" in there. More photos to follow.

Well this weekend got the trailer ready for the camping season, pulled the old boat on to the driveway to prepare it for selling. Picked up a couple of barrels this morning and after cleaning them up some got the first coat of shiny stuff in place on one of them also started putting some of our "stuff" in the pub. Drained the barrels of their remnants and did some "home filtering" They are both ex bourbon whiskey barrels and the 40 oz or so we got is stronger than heck and now decanted. Should be 8 photos posted (or after a sip or 2 of that it looks more like 16) 3 more in next post.

Only thing missing is a 115 lb 21 yr old waitress in tight clothes trying to pay her way through college...

Wow that was very specific. Bonus if she's Brazilian

Can't see the wife going for that one.......however opening night is scheduled to be a "Tarts and Vicars" party :mug:

Wow. Years of memories ahead of you. If nothing else, you've got so much knowledge from what you've done already. Kudos to you for the work so far, and what's ahead of you. It's not that you need to use it daily, it's just the fact that you could, if you chose to do so! keep posting as you have been, because no doubt, once it's been used once or twice, there will be changes. I'm actually happy and not envious at all. We all have our dreams, you got to chase yours. Job well done. I apologize, job VERY well done. Enjoy every moment of it.

What's the address again? How far from Ontario, Canada?

The whiskey is most likely 52-60% barrel strength. You could cut it down with some water to about 40% to be at normal bourbon. Nice work though!

Thanks for the info and the kind words. Will likely cut it down some. :mug:

You sir, are a craftsman! I wish I had learned more about word working from my dad back in the day. Really nice work!

Thank You so much for your comments. My Dad (90 years old on 4th June) taught me the importance of trying to do it right even if it took more time and patience. His input, demonstration and advice took me on the road to becoming a mechanical engineer. Always thought he was "full of it" in the early years but realised he was full of incredible advice and knowledge in the years after that. I have tried to do the same thing with our children.

This has really turned out nicely. I especially love what you did with the drum kit.

Thank you, our son is a drummer / lead singer / songwriter with a band and this is his old "starter" drum kit. Thought we would "spruce it up" a bit for the pub. Need to get new skins for them and thinking maybe putting some LED's in the bass drum. Friend of our sons is an artist and will be putting our logo on the front of the bass drum skin. Just put the under bar top lights in place this evening and finished off the first barrel. It will be in place tomorrow evening along with another pub height table and 2 bar chairs we picked up yesterday on the way home from the campground.

This. Is. AWESOME!! Great work, enjoy your new pub!

Not sure if you watch Family Guy, but I can't help but think of when Peter built a bar in his basement...

Thank You, have seen that Family Guy episode but not for some time. Will for sure watch it again now you have reminded me :mug:

I am stunned on how amazing this looks from start to finish. It would be an honor to drink in such a beautifully done home-pub. Great work!
