I just placed an order :) for my first homebrew set-up! With it comes a kit for "Scottish Steadfast Ale". I'm excited to get started and my wife said she is ready and willing to helpout. I'm sure I will be asking many questions in the upcoming month. I'll keep you informed of my progress.:D

Will you be bottling? If so, do you have a dishwasher?

Welcome to home brewing. :mug:

Awesome. If you wife drinks as well see if you can work out the famous "I'll brew, you clean" deal.

Let us know how it turns out.

Cheers!

Yes I will be bottling and I have a dishwasher.
You should use it to easily sanatize your bottles. Instead of soaking the bottles in sanatizer making a mess, getting wet, the hassle's of rincing each bottle ect. Just run the dishwasher with the bottle's in upside down with no soap. It's the heat from the dishwasher that sanatizes the bottles. I can fit just over 2 cases of 12oz bottles in mine which is more than you need for a finished 5gal batch.

I'd set up my bottling station/table next to my dishwasher and just grabbed the bottles from the dishwasher tray as I needed them sitting down. Clean sanatized bottles and no hassle's.

But I keg now, which means even less hassle. :fro:
