A friend just gave me about 20 oranges and i am trying to figure out what to do with them. I was wondering if anyone had a great beer recipe that uses whole orages in the primary, or even secondary. I am thinking about perhaps a Kolsch or a wheat beer, but I want to think outside the box and wanted to know two things:

1. Any ideas for beers that use whole oranges?
2. Any tips on using a whole citrus fruit.

Thanks and I cant wait to hear back!!!

There's a chocolate orange stout recipe floating around the forum here that looks pretty tasty. I've been meaning to try it.

Any beer that calls for orange peel can also use whole oranges if you want to give it a little more flavor. I'd cube the oranges, freeze them, and toss them in secondary when you're ready. You may want to get rid of the white part of the peel since it adds a lot of bitterness.
