Opinion wanted on a SS pot

I've been checking local restaurant auctions and I see one coming up has this pot available:

It claims to be 16.5" across and 10" deep. That sounds like a really round and fairly short pot. Does this make a difference if it had a smaller diameter and was taller?

That my friend is a 34quart aluminum sauce pot, most likey made by Lincoln. New about $200.

The only thing that comes to mind is boil-off rate... would be higher with greater surface area.
