Everything in bold has been a constant consideration for me the past 3-4 years. Through that time I was actively trying to reduce my cellar and countless times found myself looking at a bottle I wanted to open but didnt because "insert person" might really enjoy and appreciate me sharing it with them. Then...X amount of gatheringss/shares pass and the beer is still sitting there.

Having that attitude did nothing for helping me reduce inventory. Thats why I now give zero ***** and everything I have is fair game for being opened at any given time. (Save for a case of Fantomes that is being carted to a tasting next month.)

Sorry, this post has nothing to do with MBC. If that bothere you, **** off. :)

This has been my exact progression as well. Spent years waiting to open all sorts of stuff in order to save everything to open with everyone. Now **** just gets opened, which I think is the way its supposed to be?

To tie things back in:

$150 for 1 RdG and 1 gueuze. After shipping, thats the low price of $84 a piece.

It's not deceiving at all that there are 6 bottles in the picture and they are only 2 are included in the auction.

I don't the price is -that- outrageous by MBC standards, especially for aged Cantillon bottles, but...

...yeah, this.

what's deceiving is your definition of an auction.

None of this nonsense is actually fair or proven until it is a part of even a moderately regulated market. The sites we quote, this awesome beer valuation book based on lotteries I hear of, none of it is totally legit until someone petitions ebay to re-enter the collectible glassware market.

I nominate SeaWatchman.

I must have looked at 25 posting by that person in the last month. I think it's pretty obvious that the bottles aren't selling at the prices listed or they would have more feeback.

that isn't necessarily true. He could be being PMed and then taking down the listing when he reaches a deal with someone. If that's the case then no feedback would be left since the listing gets deleted.

If someone buys either of those, especially the second one, then good for the seller. It would certainly demonstrate that their intelligence is far superior to that of the buyer. Why recycle cardboard if you can sell it for good money???

If they sell it will really make me reconsider recycling any box or bottle again.
