Fairly certain he has been to the brewery once. There are screenshots floating around somewhere from when he was complaining about the pretentiousness and feigned sophistication of (lambic) fan boys.

I think that someone posted these in a conversation I'm in. I'll find them later.
It was probably one of the most frustrating conversations I've had in a while about beer. I am not the biggest fan of these turbid "juice bomb" IPA's (some are OK). So I get extra triggered when people start dogging beers like Pliny, Blind Pig, Racer 5, etc. Without those beers, you never have the IPA's that are so popular today. They are absolute classics.

Preach. I'll drink a Hop JuJu over just about any other IPA I've had. Those "juice bombs" are IPAs for people who don't like IPAs.

I disagree, I like the juice bombs as well as a good West Coast style. Two very different takes on a style, but both have their place IMO. The best of the juice bombs still have enough bitterness to be an IPA.

I do like many of Trillium's IPA's, as they have more to them than just being a "juice bomb". Also Tree House has some pretty dank non "juice bombs" (Green, Sap)

So in a way, you are saying Pliny is the backstreet boys and tree house is justin bieber?

I get that everyone seems to hate this guy. What I don't get is what is so far off about this trade?

I'm not saying there isn't a place for them or that I dislike them. I'm just saying they're made for people who don't actually like IPAs.

Decoherence is a one time release, small bottle count, very high ratings, and people are paying through the nose for it and trading higher to get their hands on it. From what I've read, it's the best beer CC has done in a long time.

Vig is pretty easy to get by comparison.

I don't think what i bolded is necessarily true at all, depending on what you consider a "juice bomb" to be.

I've heard the term applied to HF beers. I'd hardly say they're designed for people who don't like IPA's.

I like IPA's, APA's, DIPA's, etc but I don't like those that use pine forward hops.

I don't want a tree in my beer. ;)

However, I do like citrus forward ipa's etc.

So I wouldn't say I don't like ipa's

Along the same lines I like modern or American style gin, but hate "traditional" English gin that is way too juniper forward for my tastes. Doesn't mean I don't like gin.

Different strokes, etc.

Since his iso ft says nothing about ratios, I don't know whether or not he was looking to do that 1:1 or not. Look at the body of his post, not the title. Assuming he was, there are many lambic fans here who would tell you that's a terrible trade on the vig side.

In addition, that's only one part of the trade. He lists other bottles for trade and has other iso's.

TL;DR, ........this is far from the shittiest deal.

Shouldn't this clown's repeated posts constitute as trolling now? Not that BeerAdvocate was a beacon of intellect, but I would be floored to find out that the average IQ of your regular BA user tops 50.
