This is not to be contrarian or justify anything about the pricing per se, but apparently larger format (1.5L and up) glass is much more expensive. I know that sounds crazy, but I have inquired with my local homebrew shop after reading on here and apparently the larger glass can run a pretty penny.

May not cover the who price delta, but it is a factor is all.
I know this is the case for wine. Up to a magnum, the price is usually the same per ounce. However, once you hit 3L+, the glass becomes incredibly expensive - at my winery, they said it was due to the glass being hand-blown at that size (may or may not be true).

Your glass is hand-blown!

Why do magnums get like 10x the value of the regular format beer? It is so dumb.

Most of the time it's not 10x the value. The value is usually higher, but for beers that are sought after like Fuzzy/Leaner/Beat etc, you're getting a large quantity of the beer itself in 1 trade. In some instances, to trade for an equivalent amount of that beer, you'd be sending a ton of good beer out and spending a lot in shipping. I'm not talking about actual shitlords here, but I can understand paying a premium for large format. It's always fun going to a big tasting and pulling out enough beer for everyone to have enough to actually taste it. Some post De Garde tastings, where 50+ people are in a big room and the large format JK sours come out.... That's a good time.

Dude got his Burial Trace and is now trying to jack up the value/hype it up and create some demand for it. I'm from GA and BHB is not a good brewery.

Guessing that anyone who messages him about the SR-71 trade is going to get a response along the lines of "Thanks for the interest, but I already closed this with the first person who messaged me."

I think you're really overlooking some of his past ****** trade offers:

That beer was released like a month ago- nobody outside of distro was ISO. Now suddenly there are two posts (before 10 am which makes it even more obvious) ISO the same beer. The post also touts how only 100 bottles were released.. Seems odd to try to increase the value of the bottle you're looking for- unless of course you are actually the one with the bottle and are looking to flip it.

These guys are tools... I don't want another StS stigma attached to what is overall a really great community.

New I understand there was an infection issue with this beer. I'm not sure if it involved all bottles, although I do believe that is a possibility. In the event that some of the bottles are not infected, I am willing to trade all of the remaining bottles I have (approx. 3-4) for local shelf beers.

Since there is a possibility that what you are receiving may not be good, to some degree, I am willing to listen to any offer, no matter how unfavorable to me. The only stipulation is that the beers must be local in nature (sorry, no Bud Light, etc.).

Fwiw there are also cases of it sitting on shelves across the country!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is StS stigma?
A few people, mainly two, were hyping it up incredibly and said they wouldn't trade it for anything short of whalez... Asking for md, assassin, SR, etc. A lot of people talked **** about Georgia traders for hyping (what they considered) an overrated beer. Personally, I've only had it on draft at the release and I thought it was very, very good, but the reception from others was pretty mixed.
