I somehow doubt it works but when i got the private message for this, I "left conversation" and "ignore future messages" from the beeradvocate account. Here's hoping that stops future attempts at trying to sell me on this...

I still check the site regularly for my dose of schadenfreude over what goes on on their Bruery thread (everybody seems to be in a "just can't quit you" abusive relationship with their various tiers of membership), but I just report every message I receive from them directly as spam. I don't know that it's having an impact, but I like doing it.

I subscribed to their magazine because I like to read things at lunch and that filled up one or two lunches a month. Then they moved to quarterly which was fine because it had longer articles. But they couldn't get the issues out in time. I got a magazine with Christmas beer advertisements in the Spring and one with Summer articles in the Fall. I was done with them after that.

It really does seem like each time they "improve" it, it actually gets even shittier. But, the good news is, there will probably a new update to the mysterious beer karma calculation soon! my favorite cantillon seasonals are the seasons set (says it in the name, so it's gotta be true, right?) and OGV...

The app was just a mobile, crappier version of their website. I remember that and the ****** reviews it had.

I cant imagine a "mobile site" was/is anything different than the app.

I recall when the app first came out, a bunch of us (me, Michigan, evilc, others) wasted an afternoon submitting fake reviews and 1 star reviews that absolutely tanked the app's user score, and at one point dontdrinkbeer got a terrific screenshot where almost all the reviews on the first page were hilariously negative. I plugged TalkBeer in mine, while someone else claimed the app bricked their phone and it required a factory reset.
