Big TG Stouts!!
wt34B5o.png

Okay time for some defense. This guy is a regular trading partner of mine and he's a great dude. Never tried to take advantage of a trade even when I had no idea what I was doing. Goes $4$ on all trades we do which is great considering the quality of bottles he's given recently.

That being said, Mike, enough with the "ISObigstoutsbro". That **** is obnoxious.

Even after RyanMcFly1985 tried to nicely explain to this guy why it wasn't a good offer, he just kept digging in.

Referring to HoD: "DBH has pulled 1:1 before. So has Clover."

If anyone on here is trading HoDs for DB Huna or Clover, holler at me.
I went up to HF with this guy for Clover (he was a friend of a friend from a FB group). I was desperate for a co-pilot on a cannonball run. Don't judge me. I can attest that this gentleman is a tool of the highest degree. I cannot overstate this enough.

He spent the first two hours bragging about how many DBH he has in his cellar. He spent the next hour trashing Augie Carton and praising J Wakefield (he's a Florida homie originally). He didn't drive at all the entire way up. On the way to Tree House on the way back, he drove 90 minutes and then complained he was tired.

Edit - oh and he wore shorts and it was 28 degrees in Vermont that morning. He told me he is immune to the cold because he spent 6 hours in the rain last week waiting for Maine Dinner in shorts and a light jacket.

For some reason the first time I read the offer I seriously didn't even see the HOD part. I just glanced real quick. Even then, that's a tough sell for 3:3, but I could see it getting done. But the + of HOD just had me cracking up.

This is ******* hilarious.

Can't believe you let him back in the car.

A little over a year old thread and y'all haven't topped this yet.

Right. Something wrong with that offer? I'm looking for the 187 HOD, not the 375. That guy wasn't wrong about Clover closing for the 187 in the past. His offer is quite different than mine. I'm all ears for your feedback.

****** trades are always repeatable. Does citing a one time **** trade ever work in closing the same **** offer?

That guy was also given multiple chances to say that he meant a 187ml HoD (not that he would have got the whole package he wanted anyway) and refused to explicitly do so, so my inclination is that he was always aiming to get a 375.

This was my interpretation as well.

I don't see how it is a **** trade for a 187, but opinions and all that.
The crickets will show you the way.

That trade has very little chance even if he removes the HoD altogether.

Stupid trades happen all the time when there's a new release. You've got to be able to take advantage of the got to have it mentality upon release since those same stupid trades don't continue to happen. Clover can be acquired for less than what is widely considered to be the top dog of the mead game.

MeadBook ISO:FT was quite entertaining yesterday. Some guy asked what it would take to get Statement Reserve with "west coast access" (that phrase sent off immediate alarm bells he wouldn't have what it would take). I half-seriously, half-jokingly replied "Veritas 004". It became clear he was talking about Bottle Logic, De Garde, SARA, etc. beers from the past couple of years.

Sometimes you can't even try to trade for Schramm's and Superstition in that group without getting **** on...but I am also guilty of doing the shitting.

Ah well. I'll just go cry with my HOD and Statement Reserve 375's

A lot of people get in that group thinking it's where you trade your slightly-limited/hard-to-get just released BA adjunct stouts for the biggest whales in the mead game. Probably not a bad thing to straighten them out right away.

And MordorMongo provides lots of entertainment.
