Hello all. Quick questions for yous. I am going to try a 1 gallon recipe just for fun. My questions is do I use the whole yeast packet or does it need to be weighed out?

Typical gravity beers won't need a whole pack. If you use a yeast calculator it will tell you how many grams you need.

For instance just checked on mr malty. I.25g of 1.060 OG uses 3 grams out of the 11.5 yeast pack

I haven't been taking pre boil gravity measures, but probably will start. I've been brewing for a year with one gallon extract batches and have moved recently to all grain one gallon batches. But in my experience, so far, I have not had an issue with half a package of US05 and Nottingham.
