Hi all,

I’m brewing this week for a comp. and my usual wit strain isn’t in stock. I picked up Omega OLY-030.
Just wondering if anyone had used it beige and what to expect based on your experience?

Cheers,

Ben

A little slow on the response - but I just used it for a double brew day this weekend. I can't comment on the taste for awhile, but this yeast has the most overwhelming rotten egg smell of any fermentation I have experienced. Wyeast Forbidden Fruit has a similar smell (and produces great wits), but this one's smell is way more potent. I used it for two different beers (14 gallons total), and it is seriously smelling up my whole house. Hopefully primary fermentation will start to slow tonight/tomorrow. Maybe the result will be worth it, but there are lots of other wit yeast options that don't come with this issue. =c)
