Thanks! That's fun reading. Price then was 30-80 cents per pound (page 38). Best price I've seen recently was $7 per pound on E-bay, with usual prices much higher. Guess that's what 144 years of inflation will get you. Still, compared to pay rates then and now, I bet we're getting a good deal nowadays.
 
I thought it interesting that they purposefully place male hop plants strategically in the hop field to ensure female hops were to be pollinated.

i find it funny how the process of hop production is for the most part the same now as it was way back then.
