Some of you know that I can brew larger batches. I have only done 25 gallons at a time because that's all I could handle in my MLT. But on May 2nd I will be brewing a 40 gallon batch of Barley wine for a club brew (55 gallon batch to be aged in an oak barrel).
So I'm right now working on building my 55 gallon MLT and modifying my rig to be easily changed over from my normal 10 gallon to a 1BBL rig.
I don't want to go into the club brew not knowing how the rig will work so sometime in the end of March beginning of April I need to have the rig up and going to do a test batch. This is where you come in. I need/want a good recipe.
Oh sure I could just brew one of my house beers that I do over and over again. At least that way I would be stocked up for the year on that beer. But, what fun would that be?
Do you have a good TRIED AND TRUE recipe? If so share it with me here, I'll pick the one that sounds the best, brew a 1BBL batch of it and when it's all said and done, I'll ship some of it to you.
:note: I can't lager, well I "can" but not that much at one time so no lagers please.
