I am confused, I have read that when calculating the ABV you should take the OG minus the FG then times that by 129, 131 and others, My question is what is the correct number to use when multiplying to figure out the ABv:drunk: any Idea or what is the norm for home brewers ?.

I do ((OG - FG) / 7.36) * 1000
Its the formula I have used for ABV for a long time. It does produce a slightly different reading than the * 131. Perhaps because mine is a wine formula and not a beer formula?

Thank's If their is any other suggestions I would still like to learn more about it.
