A desperate friend with too much beer.

Honestly, that IS the answer.

Basically $100 in shelf beer was what it took. Nothing special. Right place, right time.
Damn, I figured there couldn't be many left, so, I basically gave up on that one. If you're ever in California with that Alpha Kong in tow; I'll open any or all of my beers for a taste, haha.

Beer mail I got yesterday. Very happy being able to nab Biscotti, it's been on my to-drink list for a while.

Can you tell me a little more about this?
I thought we discussed this at some point in the lambic thread, but I believe the Cuvee Valentine is just a 2007 OGV that happened to be bottled on Valentine's Day. When they realized that they decided to make special labels for it. Bottles exist with the regular label and just a 2/14/2007 bottled date (well, I guess 14/02/2007 because Europeans are jerks), but most of the ones you see have the special label. If there's a difference between it and the other bottling(s?) of 2007 OGV it's subtle and I didn't pick up on it (having them at different times). That said, it's very good, like all OGV.

I mean, wait, it's terrible and don't seek it out. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I had it recently, and honestly, it's pretty bad. I don't even think that's just me, everyone at the tasting thought it was bad. If it costs you very little to get and you want to tick it, then I'd say to go for it, but please don't give up anything good for it.

Yeah, I had heard that, too. Do still want to tick, but that's part of the reason I haven't been actively seeking it anymore.
